One of the reasons why I voluntarily left Video Games Live in December 2012 was for aesthetic reasons. I was unsatisfied with the quality of the work that was produced. I no longer wanted to be associated with a group that seemingly valued quantity over quality.
Quality is what I value the most. I disagree with the use of prerecorded tracks in some music segments. In combination with the orchestral and sometimes choir performances with the prerecorded tracks, the resulting sound seemed heavy, muffled, and bland to my ears. The tone, articulation, and character of the orchestra and sometimes the choir were often overpowered when the prerecorded tracks were at a higher decibel level.
I do not intend to attack Video Games Live. The use of prerecorded tracks in Video Games Live is not new has already been mentioned on the internet. Thank you for your understanding.
